The Rocco made its VW scene debut at the Club Scirocco AGM in 1998, two years after the resto began. It received a great deal of attention and won the car of the day award.
At Stanford Hall 1999, it was featured on the Karmann 50th display. It was here that it was spotted by Pete Rosenthal from VW Motoring and was then featured in the July 1999 issue of the magazine.

Amongst the Club Scirocco line up at the GTI Festival 2000, Santa Pod. It must have caught someone's eye as it got a mention in Classic and Sports car magazine.
