FINISHING TOUCHES
Now repainted, the Rocco could be put back together. Waxoyl was fired into every last corner. In case you were wondering why the Waxoyl is in a bucket of hot water, the heat thins it down and helps it go on easier. The interior was shampooed and cleaned. The rare set of Wolfsburg mudflaps fitted along with the refinished bumpers. During the restoration we refinished the original alloy wheels, these made a huge difference to the overall effect of the car.
Even the rear VOLKSWAGEN and SCIROCCO GLS badges were repainted. They were carefully masked and sprayed silver.
This was the first photo of the finished and polished Rocco. The Storm Spoiler made all the difference to the car. It's a shame that Storms were not offered in more colour choices. The tan leather interior would have looked great with Indiana red paint. Again my old GT has sneaked into the shot along with another friends Golf GTI.
The superb red interior. Considering this car was twenty years old the trim was still in great shape.
Even the engine bay got the concourse treatment.
